KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The University of Tennessee's solar-powered house will be on display this summer at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall in Washington.
According to a news release from the university, 1 million people are expected to attend the festival June 27-July 1 and July 4-8.
The 750-square-foot house, called "Living Light," is a functioning energy-efficient, solar-powered structure completed over two years by the UT College of Architecture and Design in collaboration with others. More than 30,000 individuals have visited it since it opened its doors.
