WEST KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Friends of Piper Smith's family are hosting a "Painting with a Purpose" party at Painting with a Twist in West Knoxville Tuesday night at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

It's a creative way to raise money.

Participants (kids and adults in this class) will paint a butterfly as they watch an instructor, step by step.

Food and beverages are welcome and encouraged.

Piper Smith was diagnosed with end stage renal disease.

Funds from the class will help pay her medical expenses.

The class costs $35. $25 will go towards her medical needs.
