Middle Tenn. Woman Pays To Have Curse Lifted

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- A Murfreesboro resident says she paid a woman claiming to be a healer $4,000 to remove a curse.

Murfreesboro police say the so-called healer, going by the name Estella, knocked on the door of Araceli Lopez, and told the 24-year-old woman she was cursed and needed to be cleansed.

Lopez paid the woman $4,000 and also gave her about $2,000 worth of jewelry.

Investigators said Lopez was duped because she does not speak English and the fake healer was able to intimidate her.

How does someone who does not speak English have that much money? We all have jobs and have lived here all of our lives and we don't have 4,000 and exspensive jewelry.
