Portland, Maine (AP) -- A Democratic activist who dressed as Osama bin Laden and waved a fake rifle on a Maine highway overpass on Halloween faces more charges.
A prosecutor says Tom Connolly in now charged with misdemeanor terrorizing and reckless conduct, in addition to one original charge of criminal threatening.
The prosecutor says Connolly is lucky he wasn't shot by police. His robe-and-rifle costume was accessorized with plastic grenades that fell to the ground as he approached officers.
Police had responded to calls from motorists who saw Connolly's stunt.
He'd gained notoriety before for revealing President Bush's drunken-driving record just prior to the 2000 Election. He's also been known to don a Bush mask and dance for passing motorists.
