4 clouded leopard cubs born at Nashville Zoo

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Four clouded leopard cubs have been born at the Nashville Zoo.

The endangered cubs were born in two litters, with two of the cubs born on Feb. 13 and another two born March 11. Each litter contained a male and a female.

The cubs are currently off exhibit, along with their parents. They should be back on display to the public this summer, along with a fifth cub. That's a female who was born March 8 at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

According to a news release, the Nashville Zoo is one of only three in the country breeding clouded leopards.

The Nashville Zoo is a member of the Thailand Clouded Leopard Consortium, which is developing a clouded leopard conservation program that includes a self-sustaining captive population.
