Tokyo (AP) -- A Japanese woman has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for blasting rock music at her neighbor's house for two-and-a-half years.
Police say the two women had their disagreements.
The woman played loud dance music almost 24 hours a day on a portable stereo that she pointed at her neighbor's house, 20 feet away.
The other woman suffered insomnia and headaches.
The 59-year-old defendant initially was given a one year sentence for inflicting injury on her neighbor. But a higher court handed down a longer sentence after determining that the woman is still hostile toward her neighbor and likely to crank the music up again.
