Glendale, AZ (AP) -- High off an overtime victory, a Boise State player decided to pop the question to his girlfriend on the field at the Fiesta Bowl, and on national TV.
Sophomore running back Ian Johnson says he made the decision to go ahead with it as soon as the camera was on him.
His girlfriend, a Boise State cheerleader, said yes, though she says she thought she might pass out. Johnson didn't have the ring on him but says "the moment just hit. There was no better time."
A fellow player says he'd heard rumblings Johnson was thinking about proposing, adding it's a good thing the team won, otherwise "it probably wouldn't have been as romantic."
