Memphis (AP) -- Bailey the dog is safe in Memphis.
The 75-pound Great Dane mix was shipped from Seattle by its owners to stay with relatives for a few months.
At Memphis International Airport, a Northwest Airlines employee opened the crate when it arrived December 12th and Bailey was last seen sprinting across the tarmac.
Dog lover Pam Bell of Germantown heard about Bailey's escape and posted flyers and began searching fields near the airport. Last week, someone who had spotted the dog called her. Early New Year's Day, Bell found Bailey in a trap she had baited with fried chicken.
The dog was scared and skinny from three weeks on the run, but was otherwise unharmed.
