West Coast Cabbie Wants To Collect On $8,200 Fare

Chapel Hill, N.C. (AP) -- A taxi driver from the west coast is in Chapel Hill waiting to collect on his fare, and it's a big one.

Levon Mikayelyan of Glendale, California, drove his passenger 2600 miles from Beverly Hills to Chapel Hill. When he checked the meter, the fare came to $8,200.

The rider's family members paid $800. Mikayelyan is waiting for the remaining $7,400. He's filed a police report, but no charges have been filed so far.
