Judge: No Court, No Kids

Maryville, Blount County (WVLT) - A Blount County Jail inmate scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning apparently told jailers he would rather have visitation than go to court.

But instead of getting his wish, the judge has suspended visitation for 36-year-old Shane Garner until further notice.

Garner is charged with a robbery last week in Blount County, which led to a chase into Downtown Knoxville, where he was captured.

Authorities say they were led to believe Garner was trying to commit suicide by police.

Several officers suffered minor injuries during the incident.
