Amazon gets patent to ship before customer order

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- First it was plans to deliver packages with drones, now it's sending packages before an order is even placed. Amazon has filed a patent for a shipping system that will be designed to cut delivery times by predicting what customers will buy before they even place an order.

The patent is designed to ship products in the "general direction" before they are ordered before the sale happens.
