KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A mass of tents and people gathered outside the new Chick-Fil-A in Bearden Thursday, each hoping to win free food at the restaurant for a year.
Chick-Fil-A offers the "First 100 Celebration" at all its openings, and the first 100 in the store get free meals for a year at the restuarant.
People started arriving more than a day ago at the new restaurant, which opens after 6 a.m. at 4944 Kingston Pike Thursday.
Chick-Fil-A says if more than a 100 are in line, the free meals will be given by raffle.
The meals are estimated at more than $26,000 in food.
The restaurant started the giveaway at an opening in Arizona in 2003.
