WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Police in Poland are investigating claims that a man raped and imprisoned his daughter for years and fathered her two children.
The 21-year-old woman has told police she was held captive for six years in a room with no door handles and was forced to give her two boys up for adoption. Police are trying to find the children to learn if the suspect is their father.
The victim's mother reportedly was aware of what was going on, but didn't go to police because her husband had threatened to kill her. The 45-year-old suspect has been in custody since his wife and daughter came forward with the allegations.
The case bears similarities to that of an Austrian man (Josef Fritzl), accused of holding his daughter in a cellar for decades and fathering her seven children.
