Report: Woman is awoken from coma to marry

ROME (AP) -- A terminally ill Italian woman has been briefly awakened from an induced coma to get married.

An Italian newspaper reports the 50-year-old nurse asked doctors to help her marry her longtime partner after being diagnosed in July with a terminal strain of hepatitis.

Doctors brought the woman to consciousness during the ceremony this past weekend long enough for her to say "yes" before she slipped back into the coma, which was induced to relieve pain.

The woman's partner calls it "a last wish that finally became reality."

The woman is only expected to live for a couple of weeks.
