Bush saddened by Americans killed in India attacks

CAMP DAVID, Md. (AP) -- President Bush says his administration is working with the Indian government and other nations to learn about those responsible for the attacks in India and ensure the safety of those still under threat.

In a statement released at the Camp David presidential retreat, Bush says he and first lady Laura Bush are "deeply saddened" that at least two Americans died and many people from other countries were killed and injured in Mumbai.

Bush says the U.S. will continue to cooperate against extremists who offer "violence and hopelessness."
