Prop knife was real, actor gets stitches

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- When an actor stabbed himself in the neck during a stage performance in Austria, he was supposed to be using a prop knife that had been blunted.

But when the prop knife broke, someone replaced it with a sharp one -- and the actor didn't know that until he used it during the suicide scene.

He received stitches for his stabbing injury at a hospital, and was back on stage in Vienna the next day.

Police are investigating.
