Joe Majors of Famed Football Family Dies In Nashville
Joe Majors of the famed Majors football family in Tennessee died Thursday at his home in Nashville.

Nashville (AP) -- Joe Majors of the famed Majors football family in Tennessee died today at his home in Nashville.

Majors, a one-time state lawmaker who most recently was a lobbyist in the General Assembly, was 70.

Majors, an attorney, was the brother of ex-University of Tennessee football coach and player Johnny Majors.

Joe Majors was a quarterback at both Florida State and the University of Alabama and the old Houston Oilers.

He'd been ill with cancer.
