KNOXVILLE (WVLT) One thing's clear: UT Head Football Coach Phillip Fulmer expects the players to keep a tight grip on the ball this weekend when the Vols take on Georgia.
Coach Fulmer continued to stress "taking care of the football" on several occasions during his weekly news conference.
"We continue to have work to do to prepare for Georgia," Coach Fulmer said.
But Coach Fulmer stresses that the players have been extremely responsive to what they've been asked to do.
"Our focus continues to be on us, getting us to where we need to be, as well as focusing on Geordia's scheme," Coach Fulmer said.
Fulmer heaped praise on Georgia's kicking game, and running game saying those were two things UT needs to focus on as they prepare to stop Georgia.
He says Britton Colquitt is healthy and will kick off this week.
Fulmer says the players and coaches are excited about playing in this week's game with SEC championship implications.
"Every Saturday, starting with this Saturday, has championship focus for us," Fulmer said.
Because of Florida's loss last week to Auburn, UT is back in the hunt for the SEC championship.
UT plays Georgia right here on Volunteer TV and CBS, Saturday at 3:30, followed by the All-Vol post-game show.
After the post-game show, Florida plays LSU in Death Valley.
That game is also televised on CBS at 8 PM.
