MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee offensive guard Anthony Herrera signed a five-year contract extension Wednesday worth a base value of $13.75 million, keeping him off the free agent market and with the Minnesota Vikings.

Herrera took over the starting position at right guard in the Vikings' fifth game of the season. In the team's first four games, it averaged 135 rushing yards; since Herrera was given the starting not, Minnesota has averaged 207.5 yards on the ground.
