Knoxville (WVLT Sports Overtime) -- Tuesday night, a building use to seeing orange, received a maroon makeover, as the Fulton Falcons took to the turf of UT's Neyland-Thompson Sports Complex.
Practicing indoors gives Buck Coatney's team a chance to get use to the same surface as the one they'll play on Saturday on MTSU's campus, but the Fulton head coach says it's so much more than that.
"This is more of a reward to come over to the university and practice. It's something the kids look forward too and something we enjoy coming over and doing, " Coatney told Sports Overtime's Daryl Hobby. "
Fulton will face David Lipscomb on Saturday. This is a repeat match-up of last year's Class AAA title game. The Falcons won that contest 24-14.
The Falcons head to the title game with a defense that is peaking at the right time. In four playoff games, Fulton has given up just two offensive touchdowns.
Since 2002, Fulton to Murfreesboro has been a common road trip for the Falcons. They're making their fifth trip to the 'Boro in six years, winning titles in 2006, 2004, and 2003.
