(WVLT) -- GoVolsXtra, WVLT Sports Overtime's media partner is reporting that sources on UT campus say Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe has been offered the duke head coaching job and that he is expected to accept the position.
There is no indication yet whether Cutcliffe would remain with the team through the Jan. 1 Outback Bowl.
Cutcliffe's current tenure as the Vols' offensive coordinator has been two years; however, he coached 17 seasons at UT in the 1980's and 90's. In between his two stints in Knoxville, Cutcliffe served as head coach for the only time in his career, guiding Ole Miss to a 44-29 record over a span of six seasons before being fired in 2004.
