(WVLT) -- Tennessee is in negotiations with Detroit Lions wide receivers coach Kippy Brown to become the Vols' next offensive coordinator, GoVolsXtra is reporting.
The news comes just hours after it was announced that Clemson offensive coordinator Rob Spence had withdrawn his name from consideration for the position.
Brown coached receivers at UT from 1983-89 and 1993-94. He is from Sweetwater. If hired, he will replace David Cutcliffe, who leaves the Vols after the Outback Bowl to assume the head coaching duties at Duke.
