(WVLT) -- Tennessee has hired Florida assistant coach Stan Drayton to be its new running backs coach, Volquest.com is reporting. Drayton held the same position at Florida for three seasons.
In additon, two former Michigan assistants are reported to be in Knoxville Tuesday interviewing for coaching slots: former Wolverine offensive coordinator Mike Debord and quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler.
Drayton has a pair of Tennessee connections; he worked in the Green Bay Packers organization with UT Director of Football Operations Bruce Warwick, and also worked with offensive coordinator candidate Dave Clawson at Villanova.
While at Villanova, Drayton was NFL standout Brian Westbrook's position coach. He also coached DeShawn Wynn, currently with the Packers, while at Florida.
Drayton replaces Kurt Roper, who followed David Cutcliffe to Duke. The Vols are still interviewing candidates to fill three offensive coaching positions.
