KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- WTVR, the CBS affiliate in Richmond, Va., is reporting that Richmond head football coach Dave Clawson is meeting with players and coaches tomorrow to tell them he is accepting an offer to become Tennessee's offensive coordinator.

The Knoxville News-Sentinel has also independently confirmed the information through an official on the Richmond athletic department.

A player told the Richmond television station that Clawson had called a players' meeting for 3pm Friday. The station is also reporting that Clawson will meet with his assistant coaches at 11am.

A source close to the Richmond athletic department told WTVR that Clawson will be paid $400,000 per year for three years. Clawson may also bring wide receivers coach Latrell Scott with him to Tennessee.

Scott has served as assistant head coach, receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Richmond for three seasons. Before coaching at Richmond, he made stops at VMI, Western Carolina, and Fork Union Military Academy.

Volunteer TV is working to independently confirm the report.

Kudo's Fulmer, Michigan's offense stinks, Stank, Stunk, to put it as simple as Dr Seuss. Clawson will impress the doubtful Fulmer naysayers. Good job Phil.....

I personally would much rather have Clawson calling the shots than Debord from Michigan. Michigan's offense was boring, and has never impressed me at all. This Clawson guy will be wanting to prove himself here, and I think he will. Great hire Mr. Fulmer.

What are we thinking?? Michigans offensive coordinator and we get Richmonds??? What is going on with the University and they would have brought a much need QB in Mallet with them. I think this shows us that Fulmer is letting the Vols fall apart and noone wants to coach for him anymore.
