Concord, N.C. (WVLT) -- Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' portion of the NASCAR Lowe's Motor Speedway Media Tour took an international approach.
It only makes sense.
Ganassi's Sprint Cup lineup features three drivers from three different countries...three different continents.
Dario Franchitti, from Scotland, makes the transition from the Indy Racing League into NASCAR. He's the reigning IndyCar champion, as well as 2007's Indy 500 winner. Franchitti will drive the #40 Dodge Charger.
Then there's Juan Pablo Montoya--from Colombia. He'll drive the #42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger. Montoya enters 2008 coming off an impressive rookie campaign. He won Rookie of the Year honors last season. He finished a team best 20th in the points and captured his first Cup win at Sonoma.
21 year old Reed Sorenson rounds out Ganassi's team. Sorenson has an accent most of us are use too--he's from Georgia. Sorenson is entering his third season with Ganassi. Driving the #41 Dodge Charger, he finished 22nd in the points last year.
