Concord, N.C. (WVLT) -- Jimmie Johnson and Jeremy Mayfield are on opposite ends of the racing spectrum. Johnson is the two-time defending Sprint Cup Champion and has won 15 races during that span--only two less than what Mayfield had in starts last season.
Things haven't always been tough, however, for Jeremy Mayfield. He finished in the top ten in both 2004 and 2005.
After that, things went downhill.
In the middle of the 2006 season, Evernham Racing and Mayfield parted ways.
In 2007, he drove for Bill Davis Racing. Sponsorship issues kept that team from ever taking off, and with four races left in the '07 season, Mayfield moved to Haas CNC Racing and took over the #66 car previously driven by Johnny Sauter.
Meaning, Mayfield is now with his third team in as many years. Click on the video icon to view Daryl Hobby's report from the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
