Morristown West's Don Woods Offered Position At VMI

February 18, 2008

(WVLT Sports Overtime) -- There could be a changing of the guard with the Trojans.

Your Sports Overtime team has learned that Morristown West head coach Don Woods has been offered a position at Virginia Military Institute. His brother Sparky is the head coach of the Keydets, and Woods told Pilot's High School Heroes Austin Price that the chance to be a part of his brother's staff is very appealing. However, Woods was quick to point out that he is happy in Morristown.

In 2007, Woods completed his 11th season with the Trojans. He has an overall record of 111-29, taking the Trojans to the class AAAA title game in 2003. He is also the last coach to beat Maryville. If fact, Woods' Trojan teams have handed the Rebels their last two losses (2002, 2003).
