Tennessee center Josh McNeil is sidelined and will miss the entire spring football practice schedule after undergoing arthroscopic surgery this week.
UT head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh says McNeil injured his left knee a week earlier and that the surgery, performed by Drs. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher of the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, was successful. McNeil earned All-SEC honorable mention selection as a sophomore in 2007.
He will miss spring practice but should return in time for all offseason conditioning and workouts,? McVeigh said.
The Vols open spring drills March 11 and 13 with a pair of non-contact dates. After spring break, Tennessee resumes practice March 25 leading toward the annual Orange and White Game on April 19.
