(WVLT) -- Farragut's famous anchor isn't the only fixture at Bill Clabo Field these days. There are quite a few bulldozers, too.
A million-dollar renovation project will bring the Admirals' Football Stadium into compliance with codes just before the start of football season. Steel bleachers will replace the old concrete slabs, and a new press box will don the new structure.
Demolition of the old seats started two weeks ago, and the project is already a week ahead of schedule. The tentative completion date is August 18th.
The project has Farragut coaches, players and fans excited about the new atmosphere that awaits them when they kick off the 2008 season.
