KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Vols are looking for a quarterback. They believe they've found one in Texas.
6'4", 210 pound Quinten Dormady committed to Tennessee Monday night.
"Whenever I was up there, I could feel something in my gut that this (Univ. of Tennessee) is where I need to be," Dormady told WVLT by phone Monday night.
The Boerne, Texas signal caller is rated a 4-star prospect by 247sports and 2-star recruit by Rivals. 247sports lists Dormady as the #5 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2015.
"I'm a quarterback that has a pretty good arm and will throw the ball around, make good decisions, and put the team is the best position to win the game," Dormady said.
His offer list included Alabama, Oklahoma State, and TCU.
Tennessee's current quarterback situation features senior Justin Worley, sophomore Joshua Dobbs, and redshirt sophomore Nathan Peterman. Worley and Dobbs are expected to compete for the starting the job.
Tennessee was in need of another quarterback when sophomore Riley Ferguson informed head coach Butch Jones that he was leaving the program.
When asked his thoughts on eventually playing the SEC, Dormady's answer was to the point. "It's huge," he said.
