(WVLT) -- Former Tennessee sharpshooter Chris Lofton will play for the Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League, according to GoVolsXtra.com.
Summer league play begins July 10. Lofton played for the Denver Nuggets during last year's summer league, averaging 2.3 points per game.
Lofton recently tried out for the Memphis Grizzlies. He played professional basketball in Turkey last season after failing to make an NBA roster. The highlight of his season in Turkey was a 62-point game.
Since the league doesn't start until July, Lofton is considering playing some games in the Pilot Rocky Top League.
Lofton is Tennessee's all-time leading three-point shooter.
Former Tennessee guard JuJuan Smith will work out with the Dallas Mavericks in the coming days.
