New York (AP) - Vince Young of Tennessee has been named winner of the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
He took the Titans to a record of 8-and-8 after an 0-and-5 start to the season. He replaced veteran Kerry Collins after the third game.
Young, who led Texas to the 2005 National Championship, was the third overall pick in the Draft last year. He received 23 votes from a nationwide panel of sportscasters and writers.
Wide receiver Marques Colston of the New Orleans Saints and running back Maurice Drew of Jacksonville tied for second with nine votes.
