Atlanta linebacker commits to Tennessee

Aug. 9, 2009

(WVLT) -- The same day the Tennessee football team took the field for its first scrimmage, head coach Lane Kiffin got good news on the recruiting front.

Linebacker Michael Taylor wants to be a Vol.

The linebacker from Atlanta chose Tennessee over Alabama, Georgia and LSU, among other schools, according to GoVolsXtra.com.

Taylor told GoVolsXtra he was "very excited" about choosing the Vols. He also detailed his abilities.

“I have good instincts and I can get to any play,” the 6-foot, 200-pounder said. “I move well and I love to hit. I love contact and running through people. I’m not afraid to go into anything. I want to work on shedding blockers and get my upper body even stronger. I’m also working on my technique.”

Taylor is the 15th commitment in Tennessee's 2010 recruiting class.
