Knoxville (WVLT) - The Tennessee Vols are heading to the NCAA Basketball Tournament making their first stop in Ohio.
From what to wear, to how to get tickets, WVLT volunteer TV's Stephen McLamb brings you more on how to get pepped up for the first game against long beach state.
The Vols are going to Columbus and Coach Bruce Pearl wants to see you there.
"The Tennessee Alumni Association is going to do all they can to make sure that the Vols are out in full force," says Kris Phillips from the UT Alumni Association.
Members of the Alumni Association are already packing their goodie bags in preparation for the Big Orange Tailgate Tour which will be held Friday morning from ten to noon at the Frog Bear Wild Boar right across the arena.
"We're going to have an alumni band to come and do a pep version for us and we'll also have the cheerleaders will make a stop by. We'll give away door prizes and there's no admission," Phillips says.
Local stores like HoundDogs are having to stock up in preparation for the rush.
"Come about Wednesday, Thursday, we'll have a good crowd. They'll be getting ready to go. Now, we've had a few people in today already saying they're going," says Todd Perkins, from HoundDogs.
So what's hot?
"It's all about Bruce Pearl, really. The stuff is selling like crazy," HoundDog's Chris Hughes says.
"The Chris Lofton jersey. It's probably the hottest jersey we've got. The Got Pearl? t-shirts, we can't keep them in basically," Perkins says.
But there's one thing sure to be a hit with fans, a button, but a button you won't find in stores.
"This year's men's spirit button is simply entitled 'Pearl Jam' and the only place you can get these is if you come to our event," says Phillips.
GEM Entertainment in Memphis has put together travel packages with tickets for the game.
Officials say they started out with about 55 and are now down to about 30 left.
