KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- If the Vols' performance against Alabama was any indication, Saturday's Halloween matchup with South Carolina could be a scary one for the Gamecocks.
A Tennessee team that started the year tentatively has found its identity in recent weeks, and after blowing out Georgia and nearly edging top-ranked Alabama in consecutive games, the Vols are as confident as they've been all season, according to head coach Lane Kiffin.
At Tuesday's media day, Kiffin talked about the success of Jonathan Crompton, the failure to execute on special teams and his growing familiarity with his players' personalities.
Kiffin said continued success in the passing game and improvement in the kicking game will be instrumental if the Vols want to win Saturday against Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks.
