The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame is partnering with our local Barnes and Noble location to host the Rebound & Read Bookfair and events.
The bookfair is a fundraiser to support the Hall of Fame’s involvement with local literacy programs. The Hall will be distributing vouchers that can be presented at the cash register at Barnes & Noble from June 5 – 10, 2007.
A percentage of the net sales will be donated to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Special events will be held in the store through out the week. On Thursday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a meet and greet with Bridgette Gordon and Daedra Charles-Furlow (former Lady Vols and members of the Class of 2007).
Also, Dane Bradshaw, former UT Basketball Player, will be signing his new book, "Vertical Leap" on Sunday, June 10 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Barnes and Noble will have a large variety of basketball books available for purchase.
The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame has participated in the Summer Reading Program in East Tennessee for seven years. An estimated 60 libraries received bookmarks to use a rewards for children who reach their summer reading goals.
The bookmarks offer unlimited admission to the Hall of Fame during the fall and other great discounts. Staff members also travel to many libraries to read basketball-related books and show artifacts to summer reading groups.
