UT Basketball announces four game series with UTC

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (AP) -- TENNESSEE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA WILL PLAY FOUR BASKETBALL GAMES IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS, STARTING DECEMBER 4TH AT THE MOCS' MCKENZIE ARENA.

CHATTANOOGA WILL VISIT KNOXVILLE IN THE 2008-2009 SEASON.

THE DECEMBER 4TH GAME COMMEMORATES THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST MATCHUP AT THE ARENA IN CHATTANOOGA, WHEN THE VOLS WON 56-TO-49 ON DECEMBER 1ST, 1982.

THE MOCS WILL ALSO PLAY GAMES IN KNOXVILLE DURING THE 2010 AND 2011 SEASONS FOR GUARANTEES OF ABOUT 40-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

THE MOCS DEFEATED THE VOLS 69-TO-68 AT KNOXVILLE IN DECEMBER 2004.

MOCS COACH JOHN SHULMAN SAYS THAT WAS "ONE OF THE GREATEST DAYS" OF HIS LIFE.

ALSO, TENNESSEE REPORTEDLY WILL PLAY IN A BASKETBALL TOURNEY IN NOVEMBER.

THE SCHOOL HAS NOT CONFIRMED THE GAME, BUT PROMOTERS OF THE INAUGURAL LEGENDS CLASSIC LISTED THE VOLUNTEERS AS PLAYING ALONG WITH TEXAS AND WEST VIRGINIA.

OPENING ROUND GAMES IN THE EIGHT-TEAM TOURNEY ARE TO BE AT CAMPUS SITES BEGINNING NOVEMBER 14TH. SEMIFINALS AND FINALS WILL BE AT A NEW ARENA IN NEWARK, NEW JERSEY ON THE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY OF THANKSGIVING WEEKEND.
