(Sports Overtime) -- Back on June 6th, Lady Vol guard Cait McMahan underwent surgery to repair her injured right knee.
After the surgery, she immediately began rehab, but will miss the entire 2007-2008 season.
Your Sports Overtime team is following McMahan thru her rehab and will share some of those sessions with you.
McMahan played last year thru pain, putting off the surgery for a year. She told us today she did that to ensure that her mom, who died from cancer in late May, could see her play in a Lady Vols uniform.
The 5-4 guard from Maryville previously tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee on Nov. 29, 2005, while playing at Heritage H.S. This past season, she played in 35 games and earned one starting assignment. She averaged 2.4 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.4 apg while logging almost 14 minutes per contest.
