Marvyille (Sports Overtime) -- When the 39th Annual Smoky Mountain Classic championship game arrived, two giants of the sport remained: Resmondo and Bell Corp. Sunday afternoon, Bell Corp proved to be the bigger giant, as the Tampa based softball team out-slugged Resmondo 29-13. The championship marked Bell Corp's 4th ever Smoky Mountain Classic title. The squad also won titles in 2005, 1992, and 1991.
Resmondo entered the game ranked number one in the slow pitch softball polls. The club was also the defending classic champs. But Bell Corp turned a 13-11 5th inning deficit into a 29-13 romp. Bell Corp's Brett Helmer was named the tournament's most valuable player.
