(WVLT) -- It's Tuesday July 17th and we're talking football...
The Vols open practice in just a couple weeks.
And even though the event was golf today out at the Gettysvue Country Club, make no mistake, the discussion was about Tennessee Football as Coach Fulmer held his annual mid-summer media outing.
Volunteer TV Sports Director Rick Russo got a chance to ride along with the Top Vol, who's as eager as anyone to get started on the field.
Roughly 60 members of the local media hacked their way around Gettysvue Country Club, all part of the Vols annual media golf outing.
Just 46 days until It's Football Time in Tennessee, thank goodness.
John Brice with The Daily Times, "You can't go wrong writing about football in the South."
Between now and the season opener, broadcasters will talk about dozens of angles, writers will write about dozens of angles and something that will surely get talked about, Tennessee's Wide Receiving Corps...
They're very young.
As a matter of fact, Lucas Taylor is the leading Receiver, and he had just 14 catches last year.
Coach David Cutcliffe, "I just want us to catch more balls than we did in the spring."
And if this Tennessee season is anything like Coach Fulmer off the tee box today, expect things to be just fine.
Coach Fulmer, "I think our guys are humble, and i like that."
