Wake Forest Coach Skip Prosser died Thursday, multiple sources have told CBS SportsLine.com.
School officials would neither confirm nor deny the news, but sources told CBS SportsLine.com Prosser collapsed while jogging and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
He was 56.
Prosser, a native of Pittsburgh, had been at Wake Forest the past six seasons and was ACC Coach of the Year in 2003. He had a record of 126-68 at the school.
He recently corralled one of the top recruiting classes in the nation thanks to the commitments of elite prospects Al Farouq Aminu, Tony Woods and Ty Walker, and he is survived by his wife, Nancy, and two sons.
