Summitt Files For Divorce

(Sports Overtime) -- Longtime Lady Vol basketball coach Pat Summitt filed for divorce from her husband, R.B. Summitt, Wednesday in Blount County, that according to the (Maryville/Alcoa) Daily Times.

The newspaper is also reporting that the attorney for Pat Summitt said the coach and R.B. are making an effort to conclude the divorce amicably.

Pat and R.B. have been married for the better part of 26 years. Together, they have one child, Tyler, who attends Webb School.

In 33 seasons at Tennessee, Summitt has posted a 947-180 record. She has also guided the Lady Vols to seven national championships, most recently this past April.

In addition, the Lady Vols under Summitt have made 26 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Sweet 16 and produced 12 Olympians.

Summitt has a 100% graduation rate among all Lady Vols who have completed their eligibility. Her entire coaching career has been spent at Tennessee. Summitt graduated from Tennessee-Martin in 1974 and became coach of Tennessee beginning with the 1974-75 season.
