JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- It's just June, but there's plenty of football fun taking place on the campus of Carson-Newman College.
This week the college is home to Tennessee's 'future stars,' a group of 7th and 8th grade football players from all across the state. They're practicing this week, getting set to take on Kentucky all-stars on Saturday in the inaugural Future Stars Football Classic. The games will take place in Louisville.
Forty-four players make up each squad. Six weeks ago, players from Memphis to Bristol tried out. It's these future stars that were considered the cream of the crop.
