KODAK (WVLT) - For the first time since 2004, the Tennessee Smokies are in the Southern League playoffs. Despite failing to win either the first or second half North Division titles, the Smokies clinched a wild card postseason berth Sunday thanks to Huntsville's 7-3 win over Birmingham.

The Smokies will travel to Huntsville's Joe Davis Stadium Thursday to take on the Stars, who won both the first- and second-half division titles. The best-of-five series will come to Smokies Park Saturday at 5pm. If games four or five are necessary, they will be played in Huntsville.

Smokies manager Pat Listach is looking forward to exacting revenge on the Stars, who won several close games over the Smokies during the regular season.

"We went over there and our offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders," Listach said. "We lost some tough games and didn't swing the bats that well, but we have a chance to win a ring, and that's the most important thing."

First pitch Thursday evening is at 8pm.
