KNOXVILLE (WVLT) - What's even worse than losing to your archrival?
How about losing to them twice in one season, including a playoff defeat that sends you packing?
Welcome to Bearden's world.
Not only will the Bulldogs (3-0) look to avenge last year's season-ending shortfall to Farragut; they'll also look to end five years of losses to their West Knoxville nemesis when they host Farragut tonight.
But the Admirals (3-0) would like to continue the dominance. Tailback Andre Sterling leads Knoxville with 552 yards and nine touchdowns already this season, including a 165-yard performance on only ten carries last week in a 38-6 win over Heritage.
Another battle of undefeated West Knoxville rivals kicks off tonight at Webb, when Catholic visits the Spartans looking to extend their series winning streak to six games. The Irish (3-0) rolled past region rival Austin-East last week, 38-14. The week before, Webb beat AE, 35-27.
Austin East looks to recover from those losses tonight at home against Carter. The Hornets (1-2) rebounded from early defeats to Bearden and South Doyle with a 35-15 win over Claiborne. The Roadrunners (0-2) and Hornets have never met on the football field.
Kingston rides the momentum of two blowout victories into Rockwood to face the Tigers (3-0), who scraped by Sweetwater, 30-23, last week to maintain their unblemished record. The Yellow Jackets (2-0) last beat Rockwood in 2004.
Morristown East visits Jefferson County tonight seeking its first 3-0 start this decade. But the Hurricanes (2-0) have lost four games in six years to the Patriots (1-2), who look to rebound from an upset loss to Campbell County, 27-24, last week.
