KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee safety Eric Berry has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, sources tell WVLT.
The contract includes $34 million in guaranteed money and has a total value of $60 million. The deal makes him the highest-paid safety in NFL history.
Berry confirmed the signing on his Twitter account.
"Bout to head to St. Joe!!!," Berry said on his Twitter. St. Joseph, Mo. is the site of the Chiefs' training camp.
"The deal's done!," he said in another post.
Berry was the fifth overall pick in April's NFL Draft. He started at Tennessee for three seasons before forgoing his senior season.
