Alcoa and Gibbs kickoff season with wins

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Gibbs topped Carter 16-13 in the first Rivalry Thursday game of the season. Brendan Wilson led the way for the Eagles rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Wilson also caught an eleven yard touchdown pass in the win.

Alcoa jumped out to a quick lead against Smith County and never looked back, rolling to a 54-13 win. Jaquez Tyson and Mitchell McClurg had impressive touchdown runs in the 1st quarter. The Tornadoes play again on Saturday at Morristown East.
