BOSTON, Mass (CBS) -- Before last night's NHL game between the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres, an emotional singing of the national anthem.

Other tributes including a jersey placed on the Bobby Orr statue outside the arena.

It has a #8 on the back with the name, Martin Richard, to honor the 8-year-old boy who was killed in Monday's Boston Marathon bombing.

Also before the game, there was a moment of silence, video tribute and the "Boston Strong" ribbon displayed on the ice.

Boston wanted a win for their city and fans, but came up one goal short. Final score, 3-2 Sabres.
