CTK: Clinton Dragons

Knoxville, Tenn --(WVLT) Clinton will enter the 2014 season with one thing that the team hasn’t had in years – experience.

The Dragons will rely heavily on the 17 starters returning from last season to resurrect Clinton’s four year playoff drought.

“We've got a lot of kids that have been in battles before, who's played and gotten some experience”, said head coach Josh Kerr.

“So when you've got a team like that, it's an exciting time”, Kerr continued.

Much of the team’s promise will reside in the hands superstar quarterback Tyler Thackerson who even has teammates excited about the Dragons’ potential.

“Tyler coming back after this sophomore year, having 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, just his first varsity time, it's pretty crazy,” said running back Aaron Watson.

Clinton will open their season in an expected shootout on the road against Anderson County
