KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Coalfield Yellow Jackets are coming off a 9-4 season that featured a trip to the state semifinals. Coalfield was hit hard by graduation but still has several key players back.
UT commitment Zach Stewart is the only returning starting offensive lineman back, but he is ready to lead the way. Addison Bible will carry the load out of the backfield.
They key for the Yellow Jackets will be developing talent in the trenches. "Our skill guys, we're in pretty good shape. We feel good right now about our skill areas. But we've got a lot to accomplish up front on both sides of the football," says head coach Keith Henry.
Despite losing eight starters on offense and seven on defense Coalfield still feels they have a deep playoff run in them. "We're going to have to work hard. We're going to have to improve throughout the course of the year. But there's no reason we shouldn't make another quarterfinal, semifinal run," says Stewart.
